I have office 2013 installed on my mac and wanted to try office 365. Signed up for the trial and downloaded. After multiple tries of not working (double clicking on the install does nothing) I did some digging and learned that I needed to uninstall 2013 prior? I thought Office365 was a virtual product so surprised i needed to uninstall. The Office apps available from the Mac App Store provide the very latest version of Office on the Mac. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook require a Microsoft 365 subscription to activate. OneNote and OneDrive do not require a Microsoft 365 subscription, but some premium features may require a Microsoft 365 subscription.
Today, Office 365 is available for the first time on the Mac App Store, making it easier than ever for Mac users to download Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and the whole suite of Microsoft’s popular apps. Users can also purchase a subscription for Office 365 from within the apps, so they can get up and running instantly.
